    Tuesday
    Jul 5th

Our brunch from Sunburnt Cow.  I got the Bush Benedict, which was yummy, and Scott got the Omelette of the Day (with sausage and tomatoes).  He liked his too.  The food wasn’t spectacular, but for the $18 we got unlimited drinks. We went with the mimosas.  Oh but they call them MOOmosas! How cute!  Or maybe it was miMOOsas… whatever it was a cow pun at noon so I was down.  Staff was super nice, cute, and Australian.  I’d go there again for Brunch if someone wanted to go, but I’d probably pick another place. No hate, SBC.
Today was an extra special Brunch for Scott and I.
Wait let me get yall up to date on what the meal means to us.  Last year, when I was living (read: crashing) at Scott’s Spanish Harlem apartment Its been our weekly tradition to meet on Sundays for a super talkative brunch.  We’ve hit up the Upper East Side diners, homey Williamsburg spots, East Village cafes, more sophisticated Soho/Chelsea restaurants*, etc.
I like eggs benedict an awful lot while Scott is more into omelets.  If there’s an interesting pancake option, one of us will probably get it.  Then the other one will convince the other to go splitsies on the pancakes and an egg dish.  90% of the time I’m the one doing the convincing.  Splitsies is an awesome concept - its like two meals!!!
During our meal we do the obvious updating the other on our week, but also talk a lot pop culture and wherever that takes us.  (example: Thursday’s episode of Community, how we just want Amy Winehouse to get over her issues because we really liked Frank, our favorite NPR podcast, puns, a liza minnelli/james franco hybrid being my spirit animal, our hopes of our success surpassing those awards we won in high school (okay, this might be a legit concern because I won best high school actress in the cincinnati area and scott won like… best piano player in the midwest.  or something.  whatever he was mad good and people let him know it.), and other topicssss.
Besides Brunch, Scott and I share a love of podcasts, banter, and our conversation topics so we did the obvious.
We joined the circus! ha just kidding, guys. we decided to start a podcast!
Today was the first day we recorded, and it. was. a. blaaasst.  We developed a format we’re going to try, and by the end of the session we got a bit more comfortable and into a better rhythm.  It took us twice as long as it should have because we kept laughing at how awkward and dumb we sounded. Its not as easy as we thought it would be.  We have to do some editing on it, and hopefully we’ll release it on Tuesday!!
Because of my laziness and the fact that we don’t live close to each other, I’m pretty damn impressed with our dedication to weekly conversation over pancakes.  Hopefully we’ll keep up with the podcast as well :)
XOXO lisa
*I don’t really prefer these because they require a pre-brunch shower.
